Area Rugs are the most fashion-forward segment
of the flooring business. Each season, the
largest and most successful importers send
important new fabric collections from the best
houses to their master weavers in Iran, Pakistan
and India. Colorations are adjusted so that
their antique designs feature the newest shades
from Robert Allen, Schumacher and Brunschwig &
Fils.
 We
have 300 of the "Best-Selling" Rugs from the
finest importers on display at all times, and
they constantly change. They are all
"programmed," which means that even though they
are "hand-knotted," they come in a full range of
sizes from a 2' x 3' for the back door or a 2'
6" x 12' down the hall to a 12' x 16' for the
living room. Some come in larger sizes and some
come in rounds or squares. We took this approach
to the Area Rug business for a number of
reasons:

They are hung by color so that your color scheme
will be concentrated in one area of the display.
They are all about 6' x 9', which is large
enough to fully appreciate but small enough to
put in your car and take home to try out, which
we encourage.
By having
sample rugs rather than a complete inventory, we
avoid the very significant carrying costs of
having all the rugs in inventory. Our final cost
on your rug is much lower and therefore so is
your cost. So while you will not be able to get
your new rug immediately, you will get it for
less - a lot less!

One-Of-A-Kind Rugs Via our worldwide contacts in
the International Design Guild, we found we had
the opportunity to import hand-knotted rugs
ourselves directly from Pakistan, India and
Iran. Importing directly cuts out the middlemen.
The values are too good to pass up. Although
this is a deviation from our planned marketing
approach, we decided that we could not miss the
opportunity to offer you immediate delivery on
some of the most beautiful rugs on the planet.
So at all
times, we will have ten to fifteen 9' x 12'
One-Of-A-Kind, hand-knotted rugs hanging on our
walls, which we are offered for half of what you
would pay elsewhere. They are a byproduct of our
regular business and it is a real pleasure to
see the smiles when one of these rugs is "just
perfect."

During
the past century, the Oriental rug has become
valued throughout the world as a work of art.
With its rich history and color, the Oriental
rug often is called the aristocrat of carpets.
Although the Oriental rug of today may not soar
through the air like the magic carpet of Arabian
legend, the Oriental rug does perform magic,
transforming interior spaces into extraordinary
spaces.
For
stair and hallway applications, we carry a large
selection of roll runners produced from either
synthetic fibers or from 100% wool. These rugs
are produced in long rolls and then cut to the
customers requirements. The ends can be left raw
(as is typically the case for stair
applications) or they can be bound (similar to
the treatment of the sides of the runner). Some
manufacturers also provide an option to add
fringe to the ends. For hall runners, it is even
possible with a limited selection of our rugs to
miter in end caps to give the runner the picture
frame appearance of a traditional rug.
