There are two antique methods of weaving multi-colored,
patterned carpets which evolved in the weaving centers of England and spread throughout
Europe and eventually to the US. The slowest and most painstaking is the Wilton
loom which creates the beautiful needle points that are so popular today. Actually
the loom is very flexible and will produce solid-color velvets and multi-level
loop piles as well, but by far the most desirable are the loop-pile floral and
geometric fields and borders that we use either to make custom-sized area rugs
or as full wall-to-wall installations. We have the largest collection of Wilton
Fields and Borders that we know.

Without question it's the patterned wool carpet most familiar to most people because
they have seen so much Axminster installed in hotels, fine restaurants and casinos
around the world.
We feature not only the running lines of all of the world's most famous weavers
but also several of them weave patterns and colors for our store only.

fine machine-made Oriental Reproductions and their woven and tufted broadloom.

We have the entire line. It will be our pleasure to show you through it!

Ralph Lauren entered the carpet business with a terrific new line which debuted
in October, 2000. The looks and colors are taken directly from other items in
the Ralph Lauren Home Collection, so it coordinates completely with his fabric
and wallpaper lines, which we also feature in our Design Studio. The quality is
the same that Ralph Lauren is famous for in everything that bears his name. The
prices are very competitive with other high-quality lines we feature.

A brand famous for fashion and style leadership
now offers a complete line of quality broadloom carpet. With their own unique
colorations and designs, this line offers terrific new options. 30 exquisite patterns,
textures and styles are available in hundreds of colors which are coordinated
with Laura Ashley Home's Fabric and Wall covering Collections.

In rent-controlled apartments in the City, tenants are not allowed to remove the
old asphalt tile and install wood, so clever Designers have used Sisal matting
on top to provide a natural "ground" similar to wood.
But, Sisal wall-to-wall is very scratchy and is easily stained, so a new carpet
style evolved: SisalWool - flat weaves made from wool - just as interesting but
soft and easy to clean. They have become our most popular carpets.
We have an entire department devoted to these terrific natural looks. We offer
Sisal, Seagrass, Coir, Dragongrass, Cashmere, Wool, Alpaca, Nylon and Polypropylene.
Area Rugs
made from a Sisal carpet bordered with Tapestry, Leather or Canvas are natural
and very decorative at the same time. We have hundreds for you to choose from.

The interest in graphics, which began with Sasswood, has grown
into a very important new category - patterns of all types created with a combination
of cut and uncut pile or higher and lower pile of the same type. We have everything
from simple trellises to very ornate florals and grillworks in a full range of
today's new fashion colors.

In addition to our Specialty Departments
we have a department for Twists, Textures and Friezes and a department for Velvets,
Plushes and Saxony's. These departments feature styles from Karastan, Waverly,
Fabrica, Masland and all of America's finest mills. And when your needs can't
be met with domestic product, we turn to The International Design Guild for the
finest carpets available throughout the world.
